Doing a Master's Degree at Griffith University at the Nathan Campus was undoubtedly the highlight of my academic career. I was working in the conservation field in New Zealand and got to the stage where I wanted to expand my horizons and gain further experience working overseas.
I was very lucky to gain employment in the conservation field in Southeast Queensland and at the same time study for the Master of Science Degree in Environmental Management on a part time basis over a 3-year period (at that time this course was not available in NZ).
As you can appreciate everything was different to what I was used to back in NZ so it was a very steep but enjoyable learning curve. The study itself complemented the work I was involved with, so this assisted greatly in my study program. The 2 evening weekly lectures combined with weekend field trips resulted in many long-lasting friendships being created.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Nathan Campus with it's beautiful surrounds and the opportunity to meet and work with some wonderful people.
