Community contributions instructions

Community contributions upload instructions 

You may wish to upload a written story, or provide photos, videos, or both. All information and content provided to contributions will be publicly available and used in accordance with the upload terms and conditions.

 

1. Before uploading material, read the upload terms and conditions about contributing to the Griffith Archive.

2. Select ‘Login’ on the left side menu.

If already a member, enter your log in details under ‘Login here’. For new users you need to register. Enter your name and email address under ‘Register Now’ and follow the steps. 

3. Once logged in, select ‘Upload’ on the left side menu.

 

Tell us your stories

4. To upload a written story, select the blue button ‘Your Stories’. You can also embed a YouTube video to accompany your story and upload 1 image in .jpg or .png format.

5. Fill out the basic details of your contribution and upload/embed files:

a) Enter a title (mandatory). Pick something that accurately describes your story contribution.

b) Enter details about yourself and your connection to Griffith University, noting that this information will be publicly available:

- Name

- Former name (if enrolled/employed under a different name) 

- Whether you are a former student or staff (or both)

- Fill in the years you attended or worked at Griffith University

- Fill in the degree or degrees you studied at Griffith University (use the orange ‘+’ symbol to add more than one degree).

c) After reading the upload terms and conditions, select the copyright and acknowledgement of terms and conditions.

6. Select the blue button ‘Tell us a few extra details’ to complete your story contribution.

7. Fill out the additional data about your story contribution:

a) Write your story. This is the who, what, why, where, when and how. Provide as much detail as possible.

b) You may upload 1 small image as a profile picture in .jpg or .png format to accompany your story. To upload an image, select ‘Choose File’ and locate the file on your device.

c) If you have a video to accompany your story, you can embed it via YouTube by using the YouTube ID.

8. Click ‘Submit & finish’.

9. To upload images (1 or more), select the blue button ‘Upload Your images’. 

10. Fill out the basic details of your contribution and upload files: 

a) Enter a title (mandatory). Pick something that accurately describes your contribution. 

b) To upload images, select ‘Choose Files’ and locate the files on your device. You can upload files one at a time (click the orange ‘+’ sign), or as a group by highlighting multiple files and selecting ‘open’. You can upload a maximum of 10 files, with each file not being more than 4MB. 

c) Enter details about yourself and your connection to Griffith University, noting that this information will be publicly available: 

- Name 

- Former name (if enrolled/employed under a different name) 

- Whether you are a former student or staff (or both) 

- Fill in the years you attended or worked at Griffith University 

- Fill in the degree or degrees you studied at Griffith University (use the orange ‘+’ symbol to add more than one degree). 

d) After reading the upload terms and conditions, select the copyright and acknowledgement of terms and conditions. 

11. Click ‘Finished! Submit’.
