General descriptionGardens are amazing things. They give us food and flowers, and not to mention peace and tranquillity. But there's probably much more going on than you think. In some gardens, in just one square metre can literally host hundreds of different species on, under, and above the soil. Aside from being fascinating to look at, many of these bugs, worms, and flying creatures are hugely beneficial to your garden, improving soil quality, pollinating flowers, and even destroying weeds. But the really amazing thing is that all of these different creatures can live together so harmoniously. It's as if one person from every country in the world is living right in your garden. Each has a different outfit, different personality, a different job, even a favourite food. Permaculture is an approach to gardening that is about celebrating and supporting this diversity. Who knows?
