Marketing is very persuasive. Marketing can convince us to buy a dress or a pair of shoes that we didn't need. Marketing can encourage us to replace our technology and sporting equipment long before we need to. But did you know that marketing can also be used to make our world a better place?
We call this social marketing. Social marketing applies commercial marketing thinking, tools and techniques to help solve some of the world's biggest problems. Social marketing can encourage people to recycle waste, drink less alcohol, make better food choices and to help people to become more physically active. Social marketing can also be used to address more complex social problems such as human and trafficking.
