DescriptionThis series of photographs depicts the construction of the original Griffith University campus at Nathan, which commenced in 1972.

Designed by Griffith Site Planner Roger Johnson alongside a consortium of architects, the campus was established in Toohey Forest with the philosophy of preserving the integrity of the native environment. A values-led institution from inception, the University founders’ vision sowed the seeds of Griffith’s enduring, deeply rooted commitment to guardianship of our campus ecosystems.
