Sir Allan Sewell was a foundation Griffith Council member beginning his service to the University on the 22nd of January 1971, as part of the Interim Council. On his retirement from the Council (as our second Chancellor) in March of 1988, Sir Allan had the distinction of being our longest serving Council member.
