The University completed and made available its first 100 student units/flats at Nathan Campus in February of 1980. Kitchen/dining areas serve a number of purposes within a student residence. Firstly, they are an opportunity for students to cook their own meals. They also offer students an important informal socialising area to talk with other residents. And finally, they can be a much needed space for students needing to escape the confinement of their compact flats and take a break from their studies. .
