Brisbane has a second university

Theodor Bray (later Sir Theodor Bray) is asked by the Queensland Government to establish Brisbane's second university - Griffith University. After several months of discussion, the Queensland Government announced on the 24th December 1970 that Theodor Bray would head a committee charged with establishing the State's third university.

Construction Begins - (Left-to-Right) Site Planner Roger Johnson, Deputy Chancellor Len Butts, Vice Chancellor Professor John Willett and Chancellor Theodor Bray.
