Major changes in University Governance - An era ends and a new one begins
On the 3rd March 1985, the University's founding father Sir Theodor Bray retired from his office as foundation Chancellor after 14 years of dedicated and visionary service. 1985 also saw Deputy Chancellor Sir Allan Sewell become our second Chancellor (4th March) and the organisation welcomed its second ever Vice Chancellor, Professor Roy Webb, commencing his tenure on the 1st January.
