John Topley was Griffith University's foundation Registrar and the organisation's foundation Secretary for both the Interim Council and the subsequent First/Griffith Council. John was foundation Chancellor Theodor Bray's right-hand man and contributed greatly in the planning and organising of the original administrative and academic structure of the University. He was regarded by many as an insightful and talented administrator.
