Doctor Robert Ross was the unofficial 5th foundation Chairman at Griffith University. Doctor Ross was the Director of CALT (Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning). He worked with the organisation from 1974 to 1994. CALT was originally the support centre for the four newly established Schools, and was responsible for a number of services including designing courses, monitoring and improving teaching methods, and supporting staff in delivery of educational services.
