Calvin Rose - Doctor of the University
Professor Calvin Wyatt Rose was born on 17th November 1929 in Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia. He undertook studies at the University of Sydney and gained his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of London in 1958. Professor Rose rendered distinguished to the University over many years. He attracted extensive research funding during his tenure and remains to this day one of the most prolific supervisors of Griffith University PhD (Doctorate) graduates. His most notable contribution to our university was the establishment of the School of Australian Environmental Studies - the first such School of its kind at any Australian university. He retired from staff in 1995 but remains a Professor Emeritus (honorary professor) with our organisation.
