The young goat pictured here with two young admirers, was an unofficial School of Australian Environmental Studies mascot in the early days of the University. It is believed to have lived on campus and was a regular feature at community engagement events. Community engagement was high on the agenda in the organisation's early years. The goat is being nursed by two young lads at a Before and After School Care Fun Day. These days were an important part of the early years at Griffith and served to create a Griffith community spirit between staff, students, their families, and the local community.
