This is an image of guests attending the opening celebration for Griffith University's first ever day of teaching. The event was held on the 5th of March 1975. The opening was attended by a number of dignitaries including the Australian Prime Minister of the time, Gough Whitlam, and the then Premier of Queensland, Sir Joh Bejelke-Petersen.
